The Fiat Tipo has been renewed. In addition to the well-known versions – henceforth referred to as Tipo ‘Life’ – there is also the sturdy and higher Tipo Cross for the first time.
Fiat presents the renewed Tipo family, which we expect in the showroom next year. The sedan, hatchback and station wagon are complemented by the new Cross trim. It is 7 centimeters longer and 4 centimeters higher above the asphalt. The Tipo Cross is also slightly wider and has a different suspension adjustment. ‘Entrepreneurial families’ are the target group for this newcomer, which is embellished with protective plates and side skirts.
Exterior and interior adjustments
With a new grille, bumper section, the fresh letter logo and LED headlights, the ‘nose job’ of the Tipo models is complete. The model now also has LED lighting at the rear. The wheels have been redesigned.
The instrument cluster is now digital thanks to a 7 inch TFT display. The screen of the latest UConnect 5 multimedia screen is no less than 10.25 inches in size. With Bluetooth you can now connect two phones at the same time, the smartphone can also be charged wirelessly and quickly. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also work wirelessly. Finally, the latest driver assistance systems, including blind spot monitoring and lane assist, are standard.

Equipment themes and engines
The four-cylinder petrol engine does not return. Instead, the Tipo will be available with 1.0-liter three-cylinder power unit with 100 hp and 190 Nm of torque. For diesel drivers there is the 95 or 130 hp MultiJet engine.
Fiat is now launching the Tipo family on the basis of two themes. The Tipo Sedan, hatchback and Station Wagon as we know them are grouped under the theme ‘Life’. Buyers and lease drivers can choose from the Tipo, Life and City Life trim levels. The second theme ‘Cross’ appears as Cross and City Cross, only in 5-door hatchback version. The importer will still decide which of these versions will appear on the Dutch market – and which price tags go with them.
