Always mild hybrid
Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz placed the GLA on the cutting table at the same time as the GLB. AutoWeek can already tell you the prices of the renewed Mercedes-Benz GLA. The starting price is just under 55 grand.
In recent months, Mercedes-Benz has been busy refreshing all its more compact and basically front-wheel drive models. The A-class, B-class, CLA, GLA and GLB all went subtly under the knife in a relatively short period of time. The models benefited from adjustments, especially on a technical level. For example, all petrol engines are now mild hybrid machines. Before Mercedes-Benz itself publicizes it, AutoWeek can tell you the prices of the updated GLA.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA has a starting price of €54,937 in the Netherlands. For that amount, the Mercedes dealer will hand you the keys to a GLA 180 designed as a Business Line. It has a 136 hp petrol engine that – like all other petrol engines in the GLA – is supported by a 14 hp mild hybrid part. The GLA 180 is also available as a Luxury Line and AMG Line.
Higher on the list is the 163 hp (+14 hp) powerful GLA 200. It is available from the Luxury Line version and costs €58,323 in that form. Just like the GLA 180, the GLA 200 is also available as a sportier AMG Line. Above the GLA 200 is the 190 hp (+14 hp) strong GLA 220. It is only available with 4Matic four-wheel drive and has always been executed as an AMG Line. You tap €72,415 for it. Are there more flavours? Certainly! The last regular petrol version is called GLA 250. The Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 is also only available with 4Matic drive and is also only available in AMG Line trim. It costs €83,789.
AMG and plugin
And GLA cake is not finished yet. The crossover is also available as a plug-in hybrid. The now stronger GLA 250e has a 163 hp petrol engine and a 109 hp electric heart, together good for a system power of 218 hp and 450 Nm. The 11.5 kWh battery gives the plug-in hybrid GLA an electric range of up to about 70 kilometers. As a Business Line, the GLA 250e is available from €57,147.
The most powerful GLA is an AMG version called Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4Matic. This four-wheel drive muscle bundle has a 306 hp (+14 hp) strong 2.0 and stands for €100,603 on the Dutch price list.
