Fully charged, but not charging
The facelifted Volkswagen Golf will gradually appear on the Dutch price list. Volkswagen previously released the prices of the updated Golf as a five-door hatchback and now we have the prices of the refreshed Volkswagen Golf Variant.
The updated Volkswagen Golf Variant has a starting price of €35,990. For that amount, Volkswagen will give you the keys to a Golf Variant in an unnamed basic version with a 116 hp 1.5 TSI four-cylinder power plant. Indeed: a 1.5 four-cylinder and not a 1.0 TSI with three burners. That 116 hp 1.5 TSI is linked to a six-speed manual transmission for that amount. The additional price of the Golf Variant in basic trim is therefore €1,000 compared to the hatchback version. Is the basic version not enough for you? No problem: the Volkswagen Golf Variant with this machine and the manual gearbox is also available as a Life Business (€38,490).
Would you prefer an automatic? No problem. The Volkswagen Golf Variant is also available with a 116 hp 1.5 eTSI, the mild-hybrid alternative to the petrol engine described above. The mild-hybrid 1.5 eTSI always has a seven-speed DSG transmission and is available in an unnamed basic trim from €38,490. The Golf Variant with this engine and gearbox combination can also be specified as Life Business (€40,990). Those who want more power will have to rely on the only other engine version for the Golf Variant for the time being: the 150 strong 1.5 eTSI. Just like the mild-hybrid variant with 116 hp, it also always has a seven-speed automatic transmission. The Golf Variant with this drivetrain can currently only be ordered as a Life Business and costs €42,990.
Volkswagen Golf Variant
The first copies of the updated Volkswagen Golf Variant will be delivered in July. Naturally, it offers considerably more luggage space than its hatchback brother. The five-door hatchback can accommodate 381 liters. With the rear seats folded down, 1,237 liters. The luggage compartment of the Golf Variant contains 611 liters and 1,642 liters with the rear seats folded down. Unlike the five-door Golf Hatchback, the Golf Variant cannot be ordered as a 204 hp or 272 hp (GTE) plug-in hybrid. Before the Golf Variant was facelifted, it was also not available as a plug-in.
