Fine grinding for advanced users
The Volkswagen T-Cross is almost five years old, which means that the Wolfsburgs have had an optically refreshed version behind the scenes for a long time. Of course, that facelifted crossover still has to make the necessary test kilometers and luckily our spy photographer witnessed that.
Recently we were able to show you the first pictures of the facelifted Volkswagen T-Cross, although Volkswagen’s smallest crossover was still quite fanatically in the camouflage stickers. The test sample that has now been snapped in public shows much more of its renewed packaging.
If you look closely, you will see that Volkswagen applies a small edge of tape to the headlights and that the front bumper is also covered with misleading stickers. It is immediately clear that the lower half of the upper grille is a lot wider than with the T-Cross as you have known it since 2018. Volkswagen fills in the upper grille with differently shaped slats and the cooling opening at the bottom of the bumper grows a bit.
Volkswagen is also polishing things up at the rear of the T-Cross. We see new taillights with an almost cross-shaped infill. The updated ID3 got similar shapes in its taillights. The red part in the panel that connects the rear lights on the current T-Cross is covered with red tape. It could well be that optical news is also hidden underneath. You probably don’t have to count on major engine news.
