Spyshots Volkswagen Touareg facelift

The Audi Q7 is about to be facelifted again and its somewhat less highly positioned Volkswagen brother cannot escape a cropping session. These photos show the modified Volkswagen Touareg from all angles,

In the Netherlands, the Volkswagen Touareg has been discontinued since 2020, but the fact that it is no longer available from us through the official channels certainly does not mean that the model no longer exists. The current and third generation of Volkswagen’s largest European SUV, presented in 2018, can simply go on for a few more years elsewhere in the world. He will soon do so in a refreshed form.

It is not very surprising that the Volkswagen Touareg gets a facelift about five years after its debut. Platform mates such as the Bentley Bentayga and Audi Q7 have already been modernized and the Q7 is even about to go under the knife for a second time. The appearance of the Porsche Cayenne is soon taken care of and the Touareg seems to be unable to escape that fate. The changes that Volkswagen implements on the Touareg turn out to be easily hidden from view with subtle sticker work. Unfortunately, the stickers around the headlights still manage to hide what exactly is going to change. Currently, the grille of the Touareg extends below the headlights, although the spur is in fact a closed plastic panel. The new headlights may soon continue downwards, although it is also possible that Volkswagen will soon extend the slats of the grille to below the headlights. In any case, the headlights themselves seem to have a different layout. Volkswagen is apparently modifying the front and rear bumper work, and the taillights are likely to receive a modest adjustment. You can also count on the arrival of refreshed infotainment and up-to-date safety systems.

The Touareg is Volkswagen’s largest SUV in Europe, but elsewhere in the world the brand has even bigger guys on offer. For example, Volkswagen supplies the Atlas in the United States, which is again called Teramont in China and of which there is a flattened ‘coupé version’ in both markets.
