In mid-November AutoWeek could already show you the renewed Volvo XC40. Today we have the prices of the renewed crossover on offer for you. Both the petrol versions and the fully electric XC40 Recharge (Twin) Pure Electric.

The Volvo XC40, which is now about four years old, is fitted with the snout of the much younger and always electrically powered Volvo C40. In November, AutoWeek was already able to show an extensive series of photos of the renewed XC40. Now we can report what the renewed Volvo XC40 should cost before Volvo itself has publicized it. We’ll start with the prices of the all-electric XC40s.

Volvo asks at least €44,995 for the facelifted Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric. That is a thousand euros less than before. For that amount you get the 231 hp front-wheel drive version with 70 kWh, performed as Core. For the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric as Plus and Ultimate you pay successively €48,495 and €52,995. With the 231 hp electric XC40s you can zoom to a speed of 100 km/h in 7.4 counts. The top speed is 160 km/h and, depending on the chosen version, you can travel 416 to 425 kilometers.

As before, Volvo also has a more powerful Recharge Twin Pure powertrain for the XC40 on the shelves. Those four-wheel drive and 408 hp versions have a 78 kWh battery pack that gives the XC40 a range of 400 to 418 kilometers. The XC40 Recharge Twin Pure Electric reaches 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The top speed is 180 km/h. This more powerful electric XC40 is only available as a €54,995 Plus and an Ultimate which costs €59,495. So no Core entry-level version for the strongest electric XC40s.

Petrol and mild hybrid

Volvo also supplies the XC40 with petrol engines. The cheapest Volvo XC40 is the 129 hp T2 which costs €39,995. In that case, the Swede is executed as Essential and the transmission is done with a six-speed manual gearbox. For this engine version with eight-speed automatic transmission you will lose €42,495. Higher on the engine list is the XC40 B3 with 163 hp mild-hybrid powertrain. That variant with a seven-speed automatic transmission costs at least €44,995. Here too, the starting price is that of the Essential. More mild-hybrid XC40 fun comes in the form of the 194 horsepower B4 powertrain. It is available with front and four-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive version costs at least €50,995 and is then executed as Core. For the four-wheel drive taste you will lose at least €58,995. Then you will immediately receive the Plus version.

Plug-in hybrid

The Volvo XC40 is also available with two plug-in hybrid powertrains. The XC40 Recharge T4 Plug-in Hybrid has a 211 hp powertrain and costs at least €43,495 as an Essential. For the more powerful 262 hp XC40 Recharge T5 Plug-in Hybrid, you need to bring a minimum of €47,495 to the Volvo dealer. Then you will immediately receive the Core version. Both plug-ins have a 10.7 kWh battery pack and, depending on the version, reach a distance of 41 to 45 kilometers on a charge.
