Before you reset your Apple Watch, it is important to make a backup of your data first. If you have linked your iPhone or MacBook with iCloud, a backup of your Apple Watch will also be made automatically. Reset an Apple Watch with iPhone
Most Apple Watch owners will have their watch paired with their iPhone. Here’s how to reset the Apple Watch in the Watch app on your iPhone:
- Hold your iPhone close to your Apple Watch and open the Watch app;
- Swipe down and choose ‘General’;
- At the bottom, choose ‘Set Again’;
- Then tap ‘Erase all Apple Watch content and settings’;
- Confirm your choice.
Reset an Apple Watch without an iPhone
It is also possible to reset your Apple Watch without your iPhone.
- To do this, go to Settings on your Apple Watch;
- Tap General;
- Swipe down and tap Reset;
- Tap ‘Erase All Content and Settings’;
- Enter your access code and choose ‘Delete all’ at the bottom.
This is how you reset without a passcode
If you have forgotten your passcode, there is still a way to reset your Apple Watch.
- Connect your Apple Watch to the charger;
- Press and hold the power button;
- Firmly press and release the ‘Shut Down’ button;
- Then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
