Since iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, the design and operation of the control panel (control center) has been adjusted. As a user, you have more options to make the control center better suit your way of working. You can adjust the controls and place them in a different location. If you lose any controls, you can restore the control panel since iOS 18.1.
The control panel consists of several pages with a separate place for music, home and network connections. Developers can also add shortcuts to the control panel so you can perform even more tasks faster.
You can read how you can customize the control panel to your own liking in the detailed article below:
Restore the control panel to default settings
By arranging the control panel according to your own wishes, you may no longer be able to find a certain control or you may actually want to return to the standard iOS layout.
Starting with iOS 18.1, you can restore the default control panel layout via the iOS Settings app. This means you do not have to put all the controls back on the different panels yourself.
To restore the control panel:
- Open the Settings app under iOS
- Select Control Panel
- Tap Reset Control Center.
- The Settings app will now ask for confirmation.
After giving confirmation by pressing Reset control panel Tapping will restore the control panel to the standard iOS layout.
Other control panel changes since iOS 18.1
Since iOS 18.1, separate connection controls have also been added to the control panel for WiFi and VPN connections. In previous versions of iOS 18 these were all-in-one controls, from now on they can be added separately to the control panel.
The new Wi-Fi and VPN controls cannot be added to the lock screen or action button on an iPhone 15 or later.
