A new test version of iOS 18.3 is available again! This is the third beta of iOS 18.3, with which Apple mainly solves software problems. These software errors are related to Apple Intelligence, which is now available in the first countries. One of the features of Apple Intelligence is to summarize multiple notifications into one message, if the notifications come from the same app.
The feature should make the Notification Center clearer, but does not yet work properly. It often happens that multiple reports are incorrectly merged, causing incorrect information to be spread. Not only users have complained about this to the company, the BBC has also called on Apple to fix the problems. Apple has therefore temporarily disabled the feature in iOS 18.3 beta 3.
More changes
An important function of Apple Intelligence will therefore be temporarily disabled in iOS 18.3 beta 3. It is not yet known whether the feature will return in the final release, or will only be available with a later iOS 18 update. That doesn’t matter much for now, because Apple Intelligence cannot yet be used in the Netherlands and Belgium. An adjustment in the test version that we do see here has to do with the camera controller of the iPhone 16 series.
In the settings of the iPhone 16 series, you will find another switch in iOS 18.2 called AE/AF lock. This allows you to (temporarily) fix the focus and exposure of the camera. This is not immediately clear to many users, so Apple changed the name of the switch in iOS 18.3 beta 3. The switch is now called ‘Lock focus and exposure’, which should lead to less confusion.

Furthermore, Apple is mainly implementing small changes in iOS 18.3 beta 3. For example, you will receive a notification when cropping PDF files and Genmoji have been added to iMessage. The latter cannot yet be used here, because the Genomji are part of Apple Intelligence. The first part of the AI ​​functions will probably come to the Netherlands and Belgium in April, but it will not yet be possible to use it in Dutch.
We don’t have to wait much longer for the final version of iOS 18.3, because Apple will release the update at the end of January.
