Renault not only breathes new life into the 5, but also into the 4. The concept car that previews the new Renault 4 has now been painted in a more appropriate color.

Earlier this week, the retro Renault 5 was again in the center of attention because Alpine has released its own vision on it. You would almost forget that Renault also comes with a reincarnation of the R4 a year after the new R5. We got the first concrete harbinger of this in October, with the Renault 4Ever Trophy. That adventurer can now take the stage again, albeit with very limited news.

Renault gives the 4Ever Trophy a slightly different look. It is now painted in Ile-de-France blue, the introduction color of the Renault 4 in 1962. There is another color that appears on various accents, which is more reminiscent of the fluorescent yellow you know from safety vests. According to Renault, however, it is a tribute to – yes really – the tennis balls at the French Open. Why? Well, at the opening of that tennis tournament later this month, this concept car can be admired in real life.

The production R4 that is derived from this study model will come in 2025. You can bet that it is a lot less ‘thick’ and adventurous than this 4Ever Trophy, although the R4 will be the more leggy brother of the retro Renault 5.
