E-sports is a rapidly emerging market in which competitions are played with computer games. They are games that are played in Multiplayer mode on a computer or game console. For the Esports Oculux NXG253R Gaming Monitor, MSI has opted for a fast 24.5-inch matte IPS screen with a pixel write time of 1 ms (GtG). The resolution is full-HD with 1920×1080 pixels, which realizes a super-fast refresh rate of up to 350 Hz. IPS technology is known for correct and rich color reproduction. With this monitor, with 84.09% DCI-P3 and 109.63% sRGB, an excellent color range is achieved. The wide viewing angle is the well-known 178° and the maximum brightness is a nice 400 nits. The contrast is 1000:1 and that is standard for an IPS screen.
Built-in is NVIDIA G-sync technology where, in combination with a compatible graphics card, dynamic synchronization can be achieved with the graphics controller to eliminate image pulling. This 360Hz monitor has a special feature and that is the possibility to use it with the NVIDA Reflex Latency Analyzer. Delay times (latency) and can then be optimized for an even better gaming experience with selected games. If a compatible mouse is present, it can even be included in the measurement. The monitor looks sleek with a narrow bezel frame and a square solid base. All ergonomic settings are present, such as height adjustment, swivel and tilt and the pivotfunction to rotate the screen horizontally. A VESA coupling is available for wall mounting and the like.
The monitor can be connected to the system via 2x HDMI 2.0b up to 240 Hz and 1x DisplayPort 1.4 up to 350 Hz. An HDMI and DisplayPort cable are included. We do miss a USB-C connection for connection to high-end laptops. Built-in is a USB3.2 Gen1 (5Gbps) hub with one input and three outputs on the left. A 3.5mm jack is available for sound. The monitor’s settings, including many gaming-related settings, are controlled with a single joystick on the rear right. Amazingly this works easily and quickly.
In summary, a super fast screen, developed for high end esports gaming with optimal functionality in combination with an NVIDIA graphics controller. In addition, it can also be used for standard computer work. If you lose the game, you are still a winner with this screen.
