oops. That app should have gone to someone else. Don’t worry, WhatsApp can still delete sent messages.
Cancel an app
In WhatsApp you can revoke sent messages. Handy for those who regret an app, or for those who sent a message to the wrong person. There is a time limit: the message must be deleted within about an hour. After that it’s really for eternity.
Delete WhatsApp Message on Android Device
- Tap the appropriate message with a finger to select it.
- Tap the trash can icon.
- Tap on Delete for everyone.
- A warning follows the first time you delete a message. Tap here OK.
The message has been deleted. You and the recipient see that you have deleted a message. So the message can no longer be read, but people do know that you sent an app.

- Tap the appropriate message with a finger to reveal a menu.
- Tap on Delete.
- Tap the trash can icon at the bottom left.
- Tap on Delete for everyone.
- A warning follows the first time you delete a message. Tap here OK.
