Are you waiting for the new MacBook Air? Don’t worry, it’s still coming. He only gets a different name, if we are to believe a new rumor.
Bye, MacBook Air!
Apple is hard at work on a new Mac lineup for 2022. This includes a new high-end iMac, a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, an updated Mac mini, an entry-level MacBook Pro and a redesigned MacBook Air. It is not surprising that the average consumer can no longer see the wood for the trees. That’s why Apple would like to give the next MacBook Air an easier name. According to known and reliable tasty Dylandkt the new laptop is simply called ‘MacBook’.
The new MacBook will have a colorful design. Think of colors like purple, blue, red and green. In addition, the screen edges and the keyboard of the laptop become white. In the distant past, Apple already sold a white MacBook, made of plastic. If the rumors about the new MacBook are correct, the device will therefore receive a considerable amount of nostalgia. In a more modern and high-quality jacket, of course.
Brand new M2 chip
In addition to a new design, the new MacBook will of course also have a fresh interior. The device is expected to be equipped with a powerful M2 chip. This is the successor to Apple’s acclaimed M1 chip. While the M2 sounds more powerful in numerical terms than the M1 Pro and the M1 Max in the most recent MacBook Pros, it probably isn’t.
That doesn’t mean laptop gets slow; on the contrary. The current MacBook Air has an M1 chip. Shortly after its announcement, it broke all kinds of speed records. The M2 takes this one step further and is undoubtedly more powerful than the consumer’s opinion needs.
