Running Windows on your iPad? That will soon be possible with Windows 365

Running Windows on your iPad: it’s possible from this summer. Microsoft has announced Windows 365, a service that allows you to use a full version of Windows from any web browser.

Windows 365 brings Windows to iPad

It is especially interesting for Apple users that Windows 365 also works on the iPad. You will soon be able to run a full-fledged version of Windows on an Apple tablet, without having to jump through all kinds of technical hoops.

Moreover, you can combine the two systems – iPadOS and Windows – with each other. Windows 365 runs in the browser, so as soon as you minimize or close this window, you’ll have the familiar iPadOS environment in front of your eyes again.

Windows 365 works through the cloud. You start the ‘virtual computer’ and then your personal settings are loaded. The cloud PC automatically syncs these preferences. So it doesn’t matter which iPad you use: the system always looks the same.

Speaking of which, you can set up the cloud computer completely to your liking. For example, it is possible to expand the amount of storage capacity and working memory so that you get a more powerful computer. The system is secured with two-factor authentication and all data is stored encrypted.

Release of Windows 365

Windows 365 will be released on August 2, 2021. Initially, the cloud computers will only be available to business users. Both sole traders and multinationals can use the service.

At a later stage, consumers will also have access to the cloud computers. It works in all modern web browsers on Macs, iPads, android phones as devices running Linux. As soon as Windows 11, the new version of the operating system, comes out, all users will be transferred automatically.
