An increase in the Netherlands

Sales of new commercial vehicles in the EU fell in November compared to the same month last year. However, an increase has been recorded in the Netherlands.
Sales of new commercial vehicles in the European Union fell by 0.6 percent compared to a year earlier, to a total of 141,903 commercial vehicles. This is reported by the automotive industry organization ACEA. The decrease, the fourteenth month in a row, is due to lower sales of vans and buses. Truck sales did increase. Over the first eleven months of this year, sales of new commercial vehicles in the EU fell by 15.5 percent to almost 1.5 million units.
In the Netherlands, sales of new commercial vehicles increased by 2.9 percent in November to 6,751 units. Over the whole of 2022 up to and including November, there is still a decrease of more than 11 percent. In that period, 67,029 commercial vehicles were sold in our country.
Supply issues have been hampering sales for some time as automakers face shortages of parts, including microchips. In addition, many companies have become more cautious about investing in new vehicles due to recession and inflation concerns.
