The Samsung Galaxy A53 has surfaced in several hands-on videos on YouTube. The videos show the device in all its glory and we also get an insight into the specifications of the device. What exactly can we expect?
Samsung Galaxy A53
The Samsung Galaxy A53 is one of the best-selling Android smartphones every year. For example, the Galaxy A51 was the best-selling Android device for a long time in 2020, beating its great ‘flagship brothers’ from the Galaxy S20 series, among other things. The Galaxy A5 devices sell so well mainly because they are known for their modern design, good and extensive cameras and long software support, for an affordable mid-range price. Will the Samsung Galaxy A53 also offer this?

Hands on videos
There are some hands on videos appeared with the Galaxy A53 in the lead role. In these videos we learn that the design of the Galaxy A53 is very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy A52. The difference is mainly in the camera island, which now protrudes a bit more and runs sharper in the design. We also see that the back of the A53 is no longer rounded and the sides are flat as a result.
We also learn that the device will probably have a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by the new Exynos 1280 chipset, assisted by probably 6 GB of RAM.
Cameras keep the same number of megapixels
If we look further at the cameras, they would have the same number of megapixels as the cameras of the Galaxy A52. So it will be a 64 MP main camera, 12 MP wide-angle lens, 5 MP macro camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. It is not yet fully known whether the A53 will have access to new sensors, or whether the improvements should mainly be software.
Finally, the device will receive an IP67 certification and the Galaxy A53 probably has a 5,000 mAh battery that you can charge with a capacity of 25 watts. A charger is not included this time.
Reliability and availability
You should keep in mind that we should take the videos with a grain of salt, but the images and the specifications do match previous leaked renders. In any case, the videos can be viewed below. We can probably expect the Galaxy A53 tomorrow at a new Galaxy Unpacked event.
