The regular Galaxy Tab S8 is available from 749 euros and for the largest Galaxy Tab Ultra variant you pay 1,149 euros.

The Ultra variant features a large 14.6-inch screen and at the same time Samsung has managed to keep the screen thin to 6.3 mm. Video conferencing and working

The Galaxy Tab S8 tablets want to offer a good experience when video calling, because thanks to the Auto-Framing they ensure that your head always remains in the center of the screen. Especially for video calling, the Galaxy Tab S8 has wide-angle selfie cameras on the front and they are also equipped with three microphones. The Tab S8 ultra is the only one that also has a regular front camera in addition to a wide-angle lens, but that ensures that the device has a clear notch in the screen.

In addition, the tablets should be very suitable for multistasking with the improved split-screen mode and they work with DeX, Samsung’s desktop environment. If you prefer to work with Windows, you can use the screen as a ‘Second Screen’ for your PC. They can also quickly exchange files with your PC. All devices come with the S Pen stylus, which stays in place with magnets on the back of the Tab S8 when you’re not using it.

Big screen and S Pen

Of course you can’t ignore the fact that these are three large tablets with at least an 11-inch screen and then the 14.6-inch panel of the Ultra variant. Samsung has also focused on a slim housing and states that the devices are sturdier than ever. With the Armor Aluminum frame, the Tab S8 should be 30 percent more scratch-resistant, and it’s also less bendable than its predecessor.

The Tab S8 Ultra and Tab S8 Plus both have an improved S Pen. A special algorithm ensures extremely limited latency or delay, and Samsung states that it makes users feel as if they are writing with a pen on paper. The company entered into a partnership with the makers of Clip Studio Paint. That app turns your smartphone into a digital color palette, your S Pen into a brush, and your Galaxy Tab S8 into your canvas. Use your tablet and your connected smartphone to let your creativity run wild with the two devices.

Video editing and notes

With both the front camera and the lens on the back of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, you can shoot 4K videos. The LumaFusion app will also be available soon, which is an editing tool that allows you to edit your 4K videos with the S Pen. You can also take notes with Samsung Notes and those notes will sync the tablet with your Samsung phone.

Those who would like to watch series on the big screen can get started with four AKG speakers that provide the sound. They also support Dolby Atmos sound effects. Athletes can use the large screen for the first time in combination with Samsung Health. This way you can easily consult your workouts and health data.

Four version updates, five years of security

It is striking that Samsung not only unpacks with the S22 series with an improved update policy, but these tablets are also entitled to four version updates of Android and five years of security updates.

According to Samsung, security plays a major role with the Tab S8 series and thanks to Android 12 you have the option to disable your tablet’s microphones and cameras at all times. on the other hand, there’s the Knox Vault that shields your personal data from the rest of the operating system. This protects you better against malware and other threats.

New accessories

In addition to the tablets, Samsung is also releasing a new Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard with wider, backlit keys and customizable shortcut settings. You can set up the screen of the Tab S8 Ultra exactly as you want. The Book Cover Keyboard is made of leather and it features a glass-coated touchpad.

If you don’t need a keyboard, there are also alternatives. For example, there is a transparent Note View Cover that ensures that you can write with the S Pen, even if the cover is on your tablet. And the Strap Cover is a case that helps you to hold the Tab S8 more comfortably. It is not yet known how much these accessories cost.
