Porsche unveils new version of CarPlay
A new version of CarPlay is coming to Porsche cars! With the updated variant of the operating system, it is finally possible to operate functions of the car yourself. For example, you will soon be able to control the temperature of the car via CarPlay. You can also see the most important information of the vehicle in CarPlay. You do need the My Porsche app in the App Store for this.

Porsche has developed this new version of CarPlay itself. So it is not yet the long-awaited second generation of CarPlay, which was already announced by Apple last year. The new generation of CarPlay is a major expansion of the first version of CarPlay and will be released this year. Porsche’s version now gives a good first impression of the next generation of CarPlay.
New design CarPlay: this is what it looks like
Porsche has now shared images of the new design of CarPlay. The photos show that CarPlay integrates much better with the functions of the car itself. It will soon be possible to operate the air conditioning, radio and lighting in the vehicle via CarPlay. These settings will soon also appear on the control panel, so you no longer need the physical buttons of the car.
These are features that are also introduced with the new generation of CarPlay. The operating system then uses all the screens you have in your car. New generation of CarPlay will appear this year
The new version of CarPlay will first appear in the 2024 Porsche Cayenne. So wait a little longer, but the next generation of CarPlay will come this year.
