It is now easier to share something via WhatsApp. In the suggestion block you can now choose WhatsApp contacts in addition to iMessage or Telegram contacts.
Share via WhatsApp suggestions: this is how it works
The feature will be added with the latest update of the app. Since iOS 13, you will see suggestions from contacts when you tap the share icon.
Until now, you saw contacts from iMessage or Telegram, but there was no support for WhatsApp yet. From now on you will see a list of contacts that you have spoken most recently. Here’s how to share a message with a WhatsApp contact:
- In the third-party app, open the message, photo or video you want to share;
- Tap the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up);
- You will now see a suggestion strip with your most recently used contacts, and below that a strip with apps;
- Choose the WhatsApp contact or WhatsApp group you want to share the message with;
- Optionally, enter a message with the link and tap ‘Send’.
Update app
Can’t see the WhatsApp suggestions yet? Then go to WhatsApp in the App Store and tap ‘Update’. The update allows you to share messages even faster. Previously, you followed the same steps, but to share something via WhatsApp, you always had to tap the WhatsApp app icon first. Only then could you select a contact.
More WhatsApp updates
At the beginning of this month, WhatsApp also came with a major app update: dark mode became available. This showed the app in dark mode if you also enabled dark mode in iOS 13. Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also improving its backup security.
