Good news for those who would like to charge their electric car while shopping. Shell is going to place a total of 120 fast chargers at 30 supermarkets.
Shell will build 120 fast charging stations for electric cars at 30 supermarkets in the Netherlands in collaboration with real estate company Annexum. The power that comes from the charging stations is 100 percent green and from Dutch soil, according to the parties.
Fast chargers outside of its own filling stations are a growing segment for Shell in the Netherlands. The first charging stations will be installed in 2022 and it is expected that all fast charging stations at the thirty supermarkets will be rolled out by the end of 2023. The locations involved have not been reported. Both parties have the ambition to further expand the cooperation in the future.
Earlier this autumn, it was announced that Shell will be installing fast chargers at 100 new locations in the Netherlands. These new charging stations will appear near shopping centers, but also at hotels and semi-public spaces of real estate partners of the oil and gas group.
