Shell Recharge also increases charging rates

Shell Recharge

Recently Fastned was forced to raise its charging rates for the first time in five years, partly due to rising prices on the energy market. Shell Recharge, Shell’s charging network, is now also increasing its charging rates.

With the Shell Recharge fast chargers at Shell filling stations you currently pay €0.35 per kWh and with other fast chargers in the Shell Recharge network you currently pay €0.66 per kWh. As of December 1, 2021, you will pay considerably more, especially with the fast chargers at Shell filling stations. The rate at Shell Recharge’s fast chargers is then €0.59/kWh. That equates to a percentage price increase of 69 percent. With other fast chargers from Shell Recharge you will soon pay €0.71 per kWh, because this amounts to a price increase of just under 8 percent.

With Fastned’s fast chargers you pay €0.69 per kWh since 11 November, although the charging rate for those with a monthly €11.99 Gold membership is €0.45/kWh from 1 December. It was the first time in five years that Fastned increased its rates, explaining that the rising energy prices were due to, among other things, lower gas production in the Netherlands and lower imports of Russian gas.
