The Skoda Enyaq Coup unveiled on Mondayé iV is more streamlined than the regular Enyaq iV. It makes a lot of difference! The sloping roofline even gives the Skoda electric SUV a lower Cw value than the Toyota Prius and the Tesla Model Y.
Skoda boasts that the Enyaq Coupé iV is more streamlined than the regular Enyaq iV and thus comes further on a battery charge. The regular Skoda Enyaq iV 80 has a WLTP range of 537 kilometers. The same version as the coupé is 8 kilometers further on paper.
Cd value of 0.234 for Enyaq Coupe iV
How streamlined a car is is expressed in the drag coefficient or Cw value. It decreased with the Enyaq Coupé iV from 0.257 (regular Enyaq iV) to 0.234. That may seem like a small difference, but it is a big deal that its Cw value falls below 0.24.
That means Skoda’s large electric SUV with a coupe-like roofline cuts through the air more easily than the Toyota Prius (0.24) and Tesla Model X (0.24). It also beats the teardrop-shaped Honda Insight and Hyundai Ioniq.

We are a little surprised that the driving range of the Enyaq Coupé iV is only 8 kilometers longer. From 537 to 545 kilometers is an increase of only 1.5 percent. Every mile is welcome, but it makes you think why the Toyota Prius looks the way it does. In exchange for a fraction higher fuel consumption, the Toyota designers could have drawn a beautiful car. The Skoda designers have succeeded in that.
