Skoda is celebrating its 120th anniversary in motorsport with a special limited series of the Fabia Rally2 evo: the Edition 120. The rally car is limited to 12 units, contains the most recent upgrades made for the 2021 season and can be recognized by a special livery and additional lighting. The price is unknown.
The rally version of the Skoda Fabia is not without merit in the World Rally Championship (WRC). In 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Skoda factory team entered the championship in the WRC2 category. In 2020 Skoda did not participate in the factory team, but for 2021 Skoda Motorsport has given the Fabia Rally2 Evo some extra upgrades. The ECU, intercooler and manifold have been overhauled and the dampers have also been further improved. The 1.6 four-cylinder turbo now produces 291 hp. The Edition 120 also receives these upgrades immediately. The bright green magnesium wheels, the green stripe at the bottom of the sides and the additional LED lights above the grille are specific landmarks for the anniversary model. Incidentally, the Edition 120 is not suitable for public roads.
Furthermore, the Edition 120 in the interior has access to additional luggage nets and containers for drinking water. When the rally car is started, ‘Edition 120’ appears briefly on the screens. Customers can also opt for a longer gearing, with which the car performs better on rallies with a higher average speed. The top speed is then a maximum of 202 km / h. As mentioned, Skoda builds 12 copies of the Fabia Rally2 Evo Edition 120. In the interior is a plaque with the production number of the car in question. A price is unknown, but the standard Fabia Rally2 evo already costs € 210,000 for customer teams. Since this is a special edition, you can probably add a little more to that amount.
