Skoda gives the SUV Karoq an update in all areas. The car has been taken care of inside and out, but still looks familiar.

In 2022, Skoda will put the renewed Karoq on sale. Everything about that model has been brought up to date: the exterior, interior, driver assistance systems, infotainment and safety systems. The options list has also been expanded. Software will now receive ‘over-the-air’ updates.

Exterior and interior

The Czech brand has subtly changed the appearance, so that the compact SUV still looks familiar. Think, for example, of slightly different bumpers and differently divided driving lights. A number of modifications help to improve aerodynamics (the drag coefficient is only 0.30), for better fuel economy.

There are new options for both the interior and exterior, including full-LED Matrix headlights; an Eco package with seat covers made from recycled or reclaimed materials; a passenger seat with electrical adjustment including memory function; and a Phonebox to wirelessly charge smartphones.

Multimedia and assistance systems

In the course of 2022, the Karoq will only be available with digital instruments that have an 8-inch display. The Virtual Cockpit with 10.25 inch screen has five display options to choose from. The various infotainment systems are also of the latest generation. These come standard with DAB+ digital radio reception. In the new Karoq you are always online. Thanks to Wireless Smartlink technology, smartphones are wirelessly connected to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Skoda has further improved, expanded or added driving assistance systems. For example, the optional Travel Assist includes Predictive cruise control. This uses navigation data and sensory information to proactively adjust the speed of the SUV when cornering or at a speed limit. Other assistance systems, optional or not, include Crew Protect Assist, Hands-on Detect and Area View with 360-degree camera and Trailer Assist.
