Comeback
The Skoda Octavia has not been available as a plug-in hybrid for some time. Still in the market for a plug-in hybrid Octavia? Then we have good news. Skoda Octavia Combi will be available with a plug again as of January 1, 2024.
At the end of 2020, Skoda introduced a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the Octavia. That powertrain was available in the hatchback version of the Octavia and in the more spacious Octavia Combi. Since the beginning of 2022, the Octavia has no longer been available in the Netherlands with this 204 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain. The more powerful plug-in version – the 245 hp iV RS – has also not been on the Dutch delivery list for some time. Nothing changes about the latter, but the less potent plug-in hybrid engine version now returns. For the time being only in the Skoda Octavia Combi.
There isn’t much to choose from, though. The Skoda Octavia Combi 1.4 TSI PHEV is only available as a Business Edition and as a Sportline Business. The first costs €40,490, while the Sportline Business costs €42,490. The Octavia Combi with this powertrain has a 156 hp 1.4 TSI that is supported by a 102 hp electric motor. The plug-in hybrid Octavia Combi reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. The battery pack is 13 kWh and gives the car an electric range of 60 kilometers. Shifting is done with a six-speed DSG transmission. At 490, the luggage compartment is smaller than that of the Octavia Combi with (mild-hybrid) 1.0 TSI (640 liters).
Less expensive
There is more Octavia news. As before, the Skoda Octavia is available as a Hatchback and as a Combi with a 110 hp 1.0 TSI with six-speed manual gearbox, with a mild-hybrid 110 hp 1.0 TSI with seven-speed DSG and with a 150 hp mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI with a seven-speed DSG. The 1.0 TSI with manual gearbox is now only available as a Business Edition. The Octavia Hatchback now costs €31,490 with this 110 hp 1.0 TSI, the Combi €32,990. They have therefore become successively €2,400 and €2,300 less expensive. The Skoda Octavia Hatchback and Combi with mild-hybrid 1.0 and mild-hybrid 1.5 will also become less expensive. Depending on the version chosen, prices decrease by €1,700 to €2,300.
