The basic version of the Smart #1 was previously called ‘Pro+’. Then you already know that there is another ‘Pro-without-plus’ in the pipeline, and that new entry-level version has now arrived. The Smart #1 Pro distinguishes itself mainly on a technical level and is of course also clearly cheaper than the Pro+.

The Smart #1 Pro+ is less well equipped than the more expensive Premium, but does have the same battery pack of 62 kWh net. It also delivers the same power, so that both versions sprint from 0 to 100 in 6.7 seconds. The new Smart #1 Pro has a battery capacity of 49 kWh. With this LFP battery it achieves a WLTP range of 310 kilometers, compared to 420 for the Pro+. Fast charging is possible with a maximum of 130 kW, which means that the car also lags behind its more expensive brothers in that area (150 kW). Where the Smart #1 Pro can keep up with these versions is when it comes to power and speed. Smart ‘normally’ provides 272 hp, so expect a comparable or perhaps even slightly faster 0-100 time due to the lower weight.

In terms of equipment, there seems to be no difference with the Pro+. That is good news, because that version is already very nicely equipped. A fixed panoramic glass roof, artificial leather upholstery, separate climate control, heated seats and mood lighting ensure a pleasant stay on board, while 19-inch alloy and LED lighting delight the eye. The Smart #1 Pro costs €37,395, of course before deduction of the SEPP subsidy. This makes the car €5,000 cheaper than the Pro+, which offers about 100 kilometers more range.
