You can surf the internet on your smartphone with mobile internet. This is a paid internet connection, which people close through the mobile provider. Thanks to mobile internet you can be online everywhere. So also on the street, in the theater or on the train.

For mobile internet you need to connect to the so-called 3G or 4G network. For this you need an internet subscription with a provider. With a smartphone, this is done via the SIM card with which you also call and send text messages.

With mobile internet you can simply use the internet on your smartphone. That is why you can also use it to email or download and use apps. All kinds of internet applications are within reach. With mobile internet you usually have to deal with a data limit: a maximum amount of data that you are allowed to use. How high the limit is depends on the subscription you have with the provider. There are plans with 1 GB data, but also with 2, 10 or more. Many people nowadays have a large data bundle. If someone exceeds the limit, some providers limit the speed. Other providers charge extra. Therefore, check this if you take out a mobile internet subscription.

Do you have Wi-Fi at home? Then you’re in luck. All smartphones can also connect to the internet via WiFi and that does not cost extra money. Many public places also have Wi-Fi. You can use that connection, but be aware of the security risks. It is always safer to use the mobile internet connection.
