Spotify is adding a new button
Do you regularly use the Spotify application on the iPhone and iPad? Then from now on you have a new button, because Spotify has adjusted the app. The new button has been added to the menu bar at the bottom of the app on the iPhone. On the iPad you will find the new button on the left side of the Spotify app. You used to find three buttons in this menu bar, but a fourth has now been added. In addition to ‘Home’, ‘Search’ and ‘Library’, you can now also find ‘making’ in the menu bar at the bottom of the app.
With the new button you get access to various functions in the Spotify app. The ‘making’ button is therefore not intended for just one shortcut, instead you open a new menu with the button. As soon as you tap ‘Create’ you get four options in Spotify. It is possible to start a new playlist, a joint playlist, a blend or a jam. These features are much easier to find with the new button in Spotify.
Four options
Do you often create playlists yourself on Spotify? That is much easier with the new button in Spotify. You can start your own and a shared playlist with the button. With a joint playlist, other users can also add numbers, that is not possible with the first option. In the earlier version of Spotify you had to go through more steps to create a playlist, but that is no longer the case.
In addition, the new button in Spotify is a shortcut to the functions ‘Blend’ and ‘Jam’. These are relatively new parts of the music service, which are intended to use with other listeners. ‘Blend’ combines music flavors in a shared playlist with friends, so that you don’t have to think of a playlist yourself. At ‘Jam’ you listen to the same music with friends, even if you are not in the area.

The new button in Spotify is therefore especially useful for starting new playlists and listening sessions. For users, the button will take some getting used to, because the library in Spotify is no longer in the same place. It is not possible to adjust the order of the buttons in the menu bar, Spotify does not give that option. Spotify has now rolled out the new version of the application for everyone, making the button available for all users.
