Expand downwards
After the impressive and fantastic Lucid Air Dream Edition and the slightly milder but still fierce Air Grand Touring, Lucid is now expanding the Air range downwards. It puts the Air Pure AWD and Air Touring on the Dutch price list.
The Dutch adventure of the promising Lucid Motors started with the no less than €222,000 1,111 hp Air Dream Edition, not exactly modest. The Lucid Air Grand Touring is also impressive with its 819 hp and that also applies to its price tag of €165,000. There is now good news for those who are interested but may like it a little less. Lucid Motors is now putting the milder Air Touring and Air Pure AWD in the Dutch order lists, which means that the starting price of the Lucid Air suddenly drops by half a ton.
Lucid Air Pure AWD
From now on it starts at €115,000 and for that money you get the Lucid Air Pure AWD. That version has two electric motors that together release 480 horsepower through all four wheels on the asphalt. A lot less power than the Grand Touring and the Dream Edition, but still nothing to be ashamed of. It also gets a somewhat smaller battery pack with 18 modules (Long Range Battery Pack) instead of the 22-module Extended Range Battery Pack. Incidentally, there is still no shortage of range: the Lucid Air Pure AWD has a WLTP range of 725 km. The most striking external difference with the more expensive Lucids Air: the Air Pure AWD has an aluminum roof where the more luxurious versions with the fully glass ‘Glass Canopy’ are available.
Lucid Air Touring
Lucid slides the Touring between the new slip-on and the Grand Touring. The Lucid Air Touring is available from €134,000 and then you also have two electric motors and four-wheel drive, but with 620 hp it is a lot stronger than the Pure AWD. Enough to shoot it from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds. The Lucid Air Touring has the same battery pack as the Lucid Air Pure AWD and the range is also the same: 725 km (WLTP). The glass roof is optionally available with this version.
If your budget is still just not sufficient, don’t give up immediately. Lucid indicates that an even milder Air Pure RWD will follow in 2024 and the price will probably drop below a ton. Delivery of the Lucid Air Pure AWD is expected to begin in the last quarter of this year, with the Lucid Air Touring expected as early as the third quarter.
