Streak through Moscow International Automobile Salon

The list of canceled car shows and events has a new name. The Moscow International Automobile Salon is also canceled this year.

Reports from the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta show that the organization behind the Moscow International Automobile Show has ended this year’s edition. The biennial motor show held at the Crocus Expo in Moscow has been canceled due to concerns about the further spread of the corona virus.

The Moscow auto show would take place this year from August 26 to September 6. It was expected that Lada would present a facelifted version of the Niva, formerly under the Chevrolet flag, not to be confused with the now 4×4 called Primal Niva. In Moscow, Aurus would show the Komendant, a large SUV that is technically related to the Russian top sedan (and state limo) Senat. Earlier this year, the Geneva Motor Show was canceled and the New York, Detroit and Beijing car fairs also had to change their schedule due to the prevailing virus.
