Especially a different nose
Renault announces that it will pull the curtains on the facelifted Renault Captur next week. We have secretly known for a while that this facelift will provide a major transformation.
Now that the dust has settled a bit after the unveiling of the brand new Renault 5, it is time for a refresher of another important Renault model: the Captur. The second generation of the compact crossover has now been running for about five years and the appearance no longer completely matches Renault’s most recent design direction. This will be corrected with the facelift, as we discovered at the end of last year. Then we turned up patent images showing the updated Captur. The official unveiling will take place next Thursday, April 4.
During its secondary session, the Captur was fitted with a front with much flatter headlights and a more straightforward grille. It gives it a more businesslike look than is currently the case and makes it fit a lot better next to a much fresher Renault like the Rafale. The Renault Clio, with which the Captur shares its basis, has also been brought in line with newer models in a somewhat similar way. We do not expect any major technical changes, but there is a chance that the plug-in hybrid Captur will also return to the Netherlands with the facelift. Finally, the facelift of the Captur may also eventually bring a fresh look to the Mitsubishi ASX.
