Suzuki Jimny gets order version

Suzuki has presented a delivery version of the Jimny. The compact brave off-roader has a flat loading floor and must therefore logically do without a rear seat.

There is now also an order version of the Jimny, which is no longer available in the Netherlands for the time being! Suzuki introduces a variant where it has unscrewed the rear seat and which therefore only offers space for two passengers. Given the tightness in the back of the regular Jimny, that is probably not too great a loss.

Because the order version of the Jimny does not have a rear seat, you will find a completely flat loading floor in the back of the small all-rounder. The luggage compartment is – due to the absence of a rear seat – a total of 863 liters. This means that the order version of the Jimny consumes a total of 33 liters more than the well-known copy when the rear seat is folded down. A steel railing ensures that the occupants in the front are separated from the luggage compartment. The powertrain is not tinkered with, which means that the order version of the Jimny also has the well-known 1.5 four-cylinder, which is linked to a manual five-speed gearbox.

Whether the order version of the Jimny means that a Jimny on a gray license plate will also be available in the Netherlands remains to be seen. We are awaiting a response from the Dutch importer. However, it is quite possible that the introduced version does not meet the requirements set by the Dutch tax authorities for gray registration. After all, the exact dimensions of the luggage compartment are not known. If that is the case, then this new order Jimny is of course suddenly a lot cheaper than the person version plagued by the bpm.

UPDATE: The order version of the Jimny will also be available in the Netherlands. However, due to its dimensions, it is subject to bpm in our country, Suzuki Netherlands confirms to Techzle. The first orders have already been placed.
