Switchbot Wallet Finder Card
The Wallet Finder Card is a Switchbot product and that is no longer an unknown name for many Apple users. Switchbot is the manufacturer of a different devices with which you can make a home super lim. The range includes smart curtain motors, ditches, vacuum cleaners and switches.
The great thing about the Switchbot products is that they can all work together, including the Wallet Finder Card. In addition to finding objects, for example, you can also open the smart door lock of Switchbot, thanks to the built -in NFC chip.

The tracker weighs only 12 grams, and has dimensions of 85.6 mm by 54 mm with a thickness of 2.5 mm. For comparison, a credit card has a thickness of 0.76 mm as standard (excluding any punched letters and numbers). Because of these dimensions, the tracker fits in almost every wallet or luggage label holder.
It is also possible to attach the tracker to an object using an eye, for example a backpack or travel bag. For this a special confirmation rope can be found in the package. The tracker is dust and waterproof thanks to the IP67 classification.
Uses Apple’s search mine network
With the search my app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, it is possible to find objects that are compatible in addition to your Apple products. Even when these are offline. This is possible because the search mine network from Apple consists of hundreds of millions of Apple devices that communicate with each other anonymously and safely. Apple has opened my app and the network for this for accessories from other manufacturers. This allows manufacturers, including Switchbot, to use the search my app, look for my functions and the network.

You can Switchbot Tracker So use in Apple’s search without the intervention of the Switchbot app. You can then find out the location, start a route and use Apple’s lost mode. You can also play a sound on the map to find it easier.
Furthermore, you can search for your iPhone via the card, if it is nearby and works like ‘Ping my iPhone via an Apple Watch’. By pressing the button of the card twice you can trigger the linked iPhone and have a sound play. You must always give switchbot app permission to your location.
QR code for sharing information
The Switchbot Wallet Finder Card is equipped with a QR code that can scan any finder. When the lost mode is activated on the tracker you will be led to the Switchbot website after scanning and you can show a message, for example your contact details. These are only visibility if the lost mode is active.
With the help of the NFC chip present in the Switchbot Wallet Finder, it is possible to open the smart lock of Switchbot. For this, the NFC must be linked to a keypad that in turn is linked to the smart lock.
Link automation in Switchbot app
With the Switchbot app you can link an automation to the card. The card can connect to a Switchbot Hub in your home via Bluetooth and activate an automation based on that. If you come home and the wallet automatically connects to the hub via Bluetooth, you can, for example, enable the lighting. You can also start an automation if the hub has lost contact with the card because you are no longer in your home.

No Wide Band Support
The biggest difference between the airtag and Switchbot Wallet Finder Card is that the Switchbot does not support a wideband. Apple’s airtag has a U1 chip that makes Ultra Wideband possible. This gives you the possibility to determine the exact location of the airtag with an iPhone that also has an ultra wide band chip. You can only search the Switchbot tracker via Bluetooth and based on sound and that is slightly less accurate, but more than enough to find the device.

Operation Switchbot Wallet Finder Card
Linking the Switchbot Wallet Finder Card is very easy.
- Open the search my app and you can add a new item via the ‘Objects’ tab.
- Then choose ‘other supported object’.
- Hold the on/off for 2 seconds until you hear a sound and follow the steps in the app.
You can then locate the Switchbot Tracker using the search Mijn-App and Find My Network.

The Switchbot Tracker has the same functions as an airtag:
- Find the tracker
- Play a sound
- Enable
- Received notifications if left behind
- Anti-stalking report when a strange tracker is in the area for some time
Have you lost an object? Then you can try to find it via the search my app. The last registered location can be found in the app and you can start a route to this location via ‘Search’.
Just like with the airtag and all other Apple products, you must be lucky that the Switchbot Tracker is near other Apple devices. Only then can this anonymous communicate and the location can be requested. Fortunately, since iOS/iPados 15, you will immediately receive a notification if the connection with the tracker is broken.

As soon as you are in the vicinity of the Switchbot Tracker (within a radius of 60 meters) you can in most cases connect and play a sound. This can be heard well thanks to the loud speaker, but that also depends on the thickness of your wallet. I use a wallet from Secrid myself, which is equipped with an aluminum housing so that RFID chip cannot be read. Despite this addition, the Bluetooth connection remains powerful enough.
No replaceable battery
According to the manufacturer, the battery of the Switchbot Wallet Finder with a capacity of 540mAh lasts three years. It is not a rechargeable battery, so when the battery is used up, the Find-My functionality no longer works. However, you can continue to use the NFC and continue to use the card as an access pass.
