Synology DS223j NAS for easy file management and sharing

Synology comes with a new NAS, the DS223j. It is intended for small-scale environments, such as home offices and even slightly larger enterprises. It is an energy efficient device that provides all the data management and protection tools to manage files effectively. DS223j uses Synology’s intuitive DiskStation Manager (DSM) and provides numerous options and applications for everyday data storage and management, including file synchronization, file sharing, backup, and video surveillance.

The DS223j supports up to 36 TB of raw storage capacity (1), making it an effective option for small teams to consolidate their data on a single platform for secure and easy access. It runs on the DSM operating system, which contains numerous applications for backup, synchronization and file sharing and is therefore very suitable for improving remote collaboration.
Files can be securely managed anytime, anywhere with multi-device access. With the included Synology Photos app, users can backup, share, and organize their photos with smart management tools. Compared to its predecessors, DS223j can handle more demanding tasks and a larger number of simultaneous users. For example, the device offers over 180% faster indexing of files in Synology Drive and over 200% faster indexing of images in Synology Photos.
With the release of the new DSM 7.2, DS223j is the first J-series Synology NAS to support the Btrfs file system. This enables self-healing of files to prevent data corruption and provides access to Synology’s Snapshot Replication feature. By taking frequent point-in-time snapshots, users can undo unwanted and unintentional changes to files.

Synology Drive
With Synology Drive, users can easily share and sync their files between PCs, Macs, and mobile devices wherever they are in the world. So teams spread across different time zones can ensure their workflow remains fluid and productive.
The DS223j also integrates with public cloud services, such as Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive, allowing users to store their files in and from third-party cloud services while retaining full ownership of their data.

Trusted by 500,000 locations around the world, Synology Surveillance Station helps secure buildings. Surveillance Station, which supports more than 8,300 validated IP cameras, has tools that allow users to efficiently monitor video feeds, detect security incidents, and analyze video footage.
The DS223j can be used to manage up to 12 IP cameras (2) and with C2 Surveillance, users can easily encrypt, archive and backup their surveillance footage to the cloud.
