Synology has announced the new 4-bay Synology DiskStation DS923+. This latest NAS in the Plus line of all-in-one storage devices is aimed at home offices and small businesses.

Synology is perhaps the name in the NAS field and known for NASs as the Synology DS720+. Now Synology comes with the new Synology DiskStation DS923+ with 4 bays.

Synology DiskStation DS923+
Powered by the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, DS923+ delivers complete solutions to protect and manage corporate data, easily collaborate on documents, remotely access files, and monitor physical assets – all in a compact package. The device delivers consistent performance as soon as it is deployed, but can also be expanded with network cards for network upgrades and faster data transfers.

Efficient storage that grows with you
The DS923+ can serve as a primary storage and data protection solution for the home and small office, as well as an edge node for systems distributed across multiple sites. The device has more than 50 TB of storage space in a compact 4-bay enclosure, but can also be easily scaled up to 9 drives with a total storage capacity of over 120 TB with a DX517 expansion unit.
Users can achieve even better performance by upgrading to 10GbE connectivity and inserting M.2 NVMe SSD drives into the built-in PCIe slot to enable fast caching or create additional all-flash storage pools.

Optimal use
Remote teams and companies with multiple locations benefit from cross-location file synchronization to mirror content between Synology devices. Synology Drive makes file management and sharing intuitive by combining convenient remote file access with the benefits of local storage: privacy and 100% data ownership.
With DS923+, users can enjoy high-performance local storage while limiting their on-premises data usage thanks to hybrid cloud technology. Synology Hybrid Share efficiently stores cold data in the cloud, but also keeps frequently used files cached locally on the device and accessible at LAN speeds.

Multi-layer backup
To prevent irretrievable loss of valuable information, it is essential that critical and sensitive data is constantly protected against today’s cyber threats. With Synology’s Active Backup Suite, users can securely back up and easily restore their IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux systems, Hyper-V/VMware VMs, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts to DS923+ as needed. For enhanced redundancy, backups and point-in-time snapshots of the data on the NAS can also be created and sent to a remote server or cloud service.

Compact surveillance server
The device can also be used as a full-fledged video management system, where users have full ownership of their local data. Synology Surveillance Station is a powerful video management system that already protects more than 500,000 locations. With flexible ONVIF support and over 8,300 compatible IP cameras, the system is easy to install and suitable for any location.
Surveillance Station has a modern, customizable interface that makes it easy to set up and manage up to 40 cameras. For larger buildings or building complexes, there is the option to add floor maps and integrate Google Maps or OpenStreetMap maps for optimal situational awareness. Important footage can be preserved for greater resiliency, with support for recording server backup, multi-device management, and even end-to-end encrypted simultaneous recording to the Synology C2 cloud.

Price and availability
The Synology DS923+ is available immediately through Synology partners and resellers. The suggested retail price is € 634.80.
