Deskreen shares your computer screen with any device that has a web browser. You can even mirror the screen to multiple devices. This gives you a lot of desktop space.

to install

Deskreen is donationware. You can use it for free, but if you sign up for one of the six plans, you get more support and additional user settings.

On a Windows PC open the Deskreen app and you’re done. On a Mac you still need to go to System Preferences / Security & Privacy / Privacy / Screen Recording† Then click on the lock icon to enter in the right box deskreen to be able to select.

To connect

In the opening screen you will receive a QR code and an IP address to connect to the mobile device. You scan the block code, and if your phone or tablet does not support QR code recognition, you type the IP address in the address box of a browser. Then click on the button Allow to make the connection.

Scan the QR code or enter the IP address in the browser of the remote device.

Mirror screen or extend screen

By default, Deskreen will mirror the computer screen or a particular window to the external device. In that mode, the app duplicates the contents of the monitor on the external screen. You can also use the extended mode, where you use the external device as a separate screen. In that mode, you can move apps and windows to the primary or secondary screen and the two screens will display different content.

For that second mode you need a small hardware plug, a Virtual Display Adapter (about 7 euros), which makes your computer ‘think’ that a second screen is connected. Then you open with Windows key+P the menu Project for the option To expand to choose. On the Mac you have to go through the System Preferences to the option Displays / Arrangement†
