Tax return 2016 app: handy tool with the necessary limitations

It is March and so it is time to file a tax return. Just like last year, the Tax Authorities have released a Tax Return 2016 app to make this easier for you.

Tax return 2016 app, a handy tool

If you file a tax return this year, you have several options for this. The website of the Tax Authorities is still the most comprehensive way, but if your economic situation has remained the same, the app is a lot more accessible. With the Tax Return 2016 app you can quickly complete your tax return by logging in with your DigiD.

You can read which conditions are set in the description of the app. In this situation you cannot use the Tax Return 2016 app:

  • Did not have the same tax partner throughout the year;
  • You have bought or sold a home;
  • Had a residual debt for a former owner-occupied home;
  • Had an enterprise;
  • Result from other activities had;
  • Lived abroad;
  • Had income from or possessions abroad;
  • Was a co-parent and your minor child was not registered at your address;
  • Want to declare deductible items, such as gifts, healthcare costs or study costs.

For the first time with Touch ID support

This makes the Tax Return 2016 app especially a handy helper for quickly checking your existing data. Just like the Declaration 2015 app, with the only notable addition that the Touch ID sensor is supported. With this you can now protect the app safely, without having to remember and enter a four-digit code.
