Tesla comes with autopilot update for left-hand stickers

Tesla is rolling out an update that allows overtaking with autopilot to be arranged differently. It is good news for ‘leftists’.

Tesla’s autopilot function currently automatically regulates the car to keep to the right if there is room. Anyone sitting in a Tesla that overtakes independently will notice that the car then indicates that it is better if you return to the track on the right. With a tap on the turn signal you confirm that action and send the car back to the lane to your right. That comes to an end, at least, you can if you want to. According to Electrek Tesla is rolling out an update that should appeal to notorious left-hand drivers.

Where it is already possible to ignore the advice to go to the right, it will eventually become possible to set the car not to keep as much to the right as possible at all. ‘Exit Passing Lane’ is displayed as a setting after an update and can then be turned off as required. Unless instructed otherwise, the car will then hang on the ‘overtaking lane’ without murmuring when a car is overtaken. It is then up to the driver what he or she finds acceptable, unnecessary left-hand driving is of course quickly lurking. It is not yet known when the update will be rolled out.
