53 kWh for entry-level Tesla
Is Tesla coming with a smaller model under the Model 3 or not? It really does look like it. It even seems that we can already tell you something about the technology of that cheaper new Tesla.
In a document in which Tesla presented its new master plan calculates and explains, Tesla provides a table with an overview of the current models and of the models it is developing. This of course includes the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X, but also the Tesla Semi and the Cybertruck that has yet to be released on the market. More interesting are the models featured in the table that have not yet been revealed.
For example, Tesla indicates that it is working on a car in the category ‘ccompact’. It is therefore a car that will be placed under the Model 3 and Model Y, after all, Tesla calls those models midsizemodels. The smaller Tesla, of which the manufacturer has not yet released a name, would receive a 53 kWh LFP battery. For the as yet unnamed entry-level Tesla, the manufacturer expects to be able to sell a total of – don’t be alarmed – 42 million. For the Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla plans a total of 24 million units. Also interesting: Tesla indicates that the Model 3 and Model Y have a 75 kWh battery when it normally releases no kWh. According to the released table, the Cybertruck would have a 100 kWh battery.
But there’s more. Tesla also indicates that it has a company car with a 100 kWh battery in the pipeline. The third newcomer that Tesla is releasing is a lot bigger. It is, after all, a bus. Not a delivery van or small passenger bus, but a city bus-like colossus with a 300 kWh battery.
