‘Compact crossover’

For years there has been talk about a new Tesla that will be at the bottom of the model range. Now there is another sign of life from the ‘€25,000 Tesla’.
Will he come or not? That question lingered for years when it came to the ‘entry-level Tesla’. The last concrete sign of life came last year. Then Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the model is really coming and later we heard that the German Tesla factory may build it. The smaller Tesla, of which the silhouette has already been shown, may roll off the production line there next year. It is new that it would already happen. Reuters now understands through Tesla’s suppliers that a compact crossover, provisionally baptized ‘Redwood’, will go into production halfway through next year.
This almost certainly concerns the Tesla of around €25,000. Last year, Tesla announced that it would provide a 53 kWh LFP battery for its smaller model. A bit larger than the battery of a price-wise potential competitor such as the Citroën ë-C3 (44 kWh), but comparable to that of the Renault 5 (52 kWh). In any case, the sales expectations are not good: Musk already indicated last year that he wanted to sell more annually than the Model 3 and Model Y combined.
