Tesla’s stock is worth more than gold

A Tesla stock was worth more than $ 2,000 (about $ 1,690) for a short time on Thursday. This makes it more expensive than one troy ounce (31.1 grams) of gold, the price of which broke the $ 2,000 mark earlier this month, but fluctuated between $ 1,930 and $ 1,950 on Thursday.

At the peak on Thursday, a share of Tesla was paid $ 2,003. Later, the price fell again and was slightly below $ 2,000. The electric car maker’s stock has been extremely popular with investors for some time now. In June, the stock already reached the $ 1,000 milestone.

Also the price of gold reached this month for the first time in history the threshold of $ 2,000. This is a troy ounce, a bar with a weight of 31.1 grams. The value thereof is now lower than that of a Tesla share. Tesla is not the first company whose share has hit the $ 2,000 mark. For example, the shares of Amazon and Apple have also peaked above $ 2,000 in the past.

The shares are likely to decline in value soon. Anyone who owns a Tesla share on Friday, August 21, will receive four more shares a week later. The value per share will therefore fall.
