Unlike earlier reports, Apple does not release the Homepad in 2025 but only somewhere in 2026. You should know this.
Apple Homepad will only be coming in 2026
According to Mark Gurman Van Bloomberg will no longer launch the remarkable Smart Home Hub or Homepad this year, but only in 2026. This is due to all delays with Apple Intelligence and Siri. Apple apparently is considering postponing the launch until all technical challenges have been resolved. The news does not really come as a surprise, but it is a bit of a disappointment.
The homepad that Apple will probably only release in 2026 is a whole new product category for home. Think of an ultrasound show or Google Nest Hub, but then made by Apple. The device will probably get a rectangular screen of 7 inches, Apple Intelligence and also a new operating system. In addition, the use of Apple Intelligence and App Intents.

Problems with Siri
Apple currently has a lot of internal problems with Siri. The company has officially postponed the launch of the previously announced Siri functions from this spring to ‘somewhere in the coming year’. Apple has also implemented a number of internal restructuring and apparently considering to rebuild the functions. Apple’s first step in the consumer AI did not go great to say the least. It is possible for that reason that it is a good idea that Apple will only launch the Homepad in 2026.
Apple initially planned a launch in March 2025. Then Gurman reported delays and said that the product would be launched in April or later. Now he is a lot more negative and only expects the Homepad in 2026:
Initially, there was some optimism that the snags would only result in the smart home hub shipping a few months later – Say, around the time of the new iPhones. Now the Company is consulting a delay until 2026, when the siri features are expected to land. If that happens, it’ll be a disappointment to apple fans looking for the company to finally make a larger push into the smart home. But this product probably won Make a big differentence in Terms of Revenue. It’s really just an apple version of the Google Nest Hub.
(Initially there was hope that the Smart Home Hub would be delivered a few months later due to the problems, for example, right with the new iPhones. Now the company is considering postponing the delivery of the Homepad until 2026, when the Siri functions are probably available. If that happens, it would probably not be a big step for Apple Fans. worries. It’s just an Apple version of the Nest Hub.)
Hopefully Apple will not completely throw this product completely overboard. Gurman points out that the product is only a stepping stone to a final product with a robot arm and with more functions. That product will undoubtedly be a lot more expensive. That is why it would be nice if Apple would first start with a cheaper version of the Homepad in 2026.
