The Best iOS Apps in the App Store from Week 52

The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the last seven days. The editors of iPhoned have listed the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.

Last week’s 4 best iOS apps

The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates for existing programs and games are added all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separates the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are this week’s best iOS apps, updates, and games.

1. Viral Days

There are already several games that respond to the corona pandemic. Plague Inc.: The Cure, for example, revolves around statistics and researching a possible vaccine. Viral Days is a lot simpler. In this SimCity-esque game, you must stop the virus from spreading across a fictional town. If healthy people are around an infected person for too long, they also become infected themselves.

Your job is to quarantine or transport carriers of the virus to the hospital. You also have access to a mouth cap factory, so that people can protect themselves (a little). In the higher levels you have the option to set a lockdown. However, this has a major impact on the economic prosperity of the town.

2. Homy Baky

Christmas is over, but the holidays are definitely not yet. And since outdoor trips are a bit tricky at the moment, now is a good time to develop your baking skills. HomyBaky is a new recipe app full of delicious ideas for tasty cakes or desserts. Before New Year’s Eve or just in between.

How about a stroopwafel cheesecake, for example? Or brownies with white chocolate and hazelnut? In addition to the ingredients and the preparation method, each recipe also states how difficult it is to make the delicacy. This way you can enter at your level and success is guaranteed.

3. Doodle Jump 2

Doodle Jump is one of the oldest and most popular games ever released for iOS. The platform game came out in 2009 and has been updated frequently since then. The makers also released several special variants. Now there is finally an official successor with the unsurprising title Doodle Jump 2.

The simple structure of the game has not changed. You still jump from platform to platform by moving your iPhone left and right. You will encounter new characters and worlds along the way. You have to collect stars to complete the different levels. Doodle Jump 2 is a wonderfully nostalgic game, perfect for when you have nothing to do.

4. Growrilla

Do you like to keep a close eye on everything you do in your life? Then Growrilla is definitely worth a try. This app lets you create categories for any activity you can think of. Then enter how often you do them in a day (or per month). This gives you insight into your patterns and you can see how interests may be shifting.

It is a simple app, but it can be useful to map your behavior and possibly make conscious changes. With Growrilla Premium you get to see even more statistics and you can easily analyze all counts.
