Kia Sorento
Kia will release more information about the new Sorento. The model only comes to the Netherlands as a hybrid. There are two versions: with and without plug.
The new Kia Sorento is coming. The brand will now offer the large SUV in our country as standard with hybrid drive. Two versions will be released, the first being a plugless hybrid with 230 hp system power. The drivetrain consists of a 1.6 T-GDi petrol engine, a 44 kW electric motor, a 1.49 kWh battery pack and a six-speed automatic. Optionally, Kia offers the hybrid SUV with four-wheel drive. Later, the Sorento also comes as a plug hybrid, but Kia does not release any technical details of that version.
The Sorento is on a new platform with a 3.5 cm longer wheelbase. More seating is available on all seats and the entry to the optional third row of seats has been increased. The trunk has grown to 910 liters, the batteries of the hybrid system are hidden in the bottom of the car and have no influence on the contents of the cargo space. The seven-seat version swallows 821 liters of luggage with the rear seats down, with the two seats up, this leaves 187 liters.
The Sorento has one of the most luxurious interiors Kia ever mounted in a car. Mood lighting, satin finish of the materials, leather, special finishing options and luxury options take the interior of the Sorento to the next level. The SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation as standard, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen is also available on the center console. Many buttons have been replaced by touch keys.
In the field of driver assistance systems, the new Sorento is completely up to date. The model can drive autonomously at level 2, which means that the car remains independently in the lane, brakes and accelerates on highways and B roads.
The prices of the new Sorento are not yet known.
