It took a while, but Aston Martin shows the Vantage Roadster. The existing engine range remains the same, the car will enter the showrooms this summer (without a roof).
It’s been two years since Aston Martin presented the brand new Vantage. No convertible version of the sporty coupĂ© was available to this day. In the run-up to the coming summer, Aston believes the time is really ripe and is now sending the Vantage Roadster to the world.
The biggest and almost any news is hidden in the roof construction, because on the motor level the British stick to the 510 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that is also placed in the nose of the Roadster. An eight-speed automatic transmission is linked to this block. The top speed of the convertible is 306 km / h. A sprint from a standstill to 60 mph (96.6 km / h) takes 3.7 seconds. As usual, the convertible also has something to offer if we compare it to the closed version. The Roadster can be 8 km / h faster and needs 0.1 seconds less for a comparable sprint.
Aston Martin also adheres to the design of the well-known Vantage Roadster for the coach. Except for the roof, which can be opened within seven seconds (6.7 seconds) and closed (6.8 seconds). With this, the brand claims to have the fastest operable fully automatic convertible roof. The driver can operate the roof up to a speed of 50 km / h. Since the Vantage is not already a space wonder, designers have done everything to minimize luggage space. This results in a trunk with a capacity of 200 liters: exactly enough for a golf bag, luckily!
His car must appear on public roads before the summer. The Dutch prices have not yet been announced, in England the car costs at least £ 114,850. Our eastern neighbors pay a minimum of € 157,300; about € 3,000 more than for the Roadster. That dense Roadster costs around € 211,000 in our country. So assume around € 215,000.
