These are the 5 best iOS games of January 2018

Also this year we dive into the App Store every month to find the coolest new games for your iPhone and iPad. These are the five best iOS games of January 2018.

Best iOS Games January 2018

The new year gets off to a good start in the App Store, with some fantastic games. The super-fast Thumper is of course at the top of our list, but the new game from the maker of Yellow is also available now. In addition, there is a new Rusty Lake game and more.

1. Thumper

Thumper was released for PC and game consoles in 2016 and now you can play the full game on your iPhone. That works great. Thumper is a rhythm action game in which you react to the beat of the music on obstacles that are approaching you at lightning speed. The speed, style, music and responsiveness you need make this the most intense game you can play on your iPhone (or iPad). Especially cool is that you learn new things by playing, which makes it fun to go back to old levels for a higher score. As a result, Thumper will not get bored easily.

2. Red

Do you remember puzzle game Yellow? In the game from Belgium you have to make several screens yellow. The trick is that each screen needs a different method for that and you have to figure out which one it is. Maker Bart Bonte has now finished the sequel: Red. The idea is the same, but now the screens should turn red instead of yellow. The game is free to play again. How quickly do you solve everything?

3. Rusty Lake Paradise

The Rusty Lake games from the Netherlands stand for quality. That is no different with Rusty Lake Paradise. In this part you will end up on an island where you will search for the cause of death of your mother. Your family on the island is also plagued by ten plagues. In this mysterious setting you have to solve a lot of puzzles as always. Fun for everyone who likes point-and-click adventures.

4. Cinco Pope

Do you remember Imbroglio? We named this game one of the fifteen best games of 2016. Now the maker has a new title in the App Store: Cinco Paus. Imbroglio was already quite inaccessible because of the style and Cinco Paus goes one step further: the full game is in Portuguese.

So the fun this time is that you have to figure out what the hell is supposed to be. It’s another one roguelike, but this time you fire some kind of spells to ward off the enemies. However, you have no idea what effect these spells have. Do you make the effort to discover everything? Then you have another crazy game that you learn more and more about.

5. Jydge

Jydge is a delightful two-stick shooter in which you play a self-upgradeable police officer. In the game you shoot enemies, rescue hostages and collect evidence. Although you are a strong guy, you can still die. That is why you have to pay close attention constantly. The game looks good, has a nice soundtrack and plays nicely.
