Only four tires excellent

Are all-season tires a good alternative for people who value driving dynamics? This tire test answers that question. The tire size in this test is 225/40R18 and eleven brands participate.
Sales figures for all-season tires have been rising for years. These all-rounders are very popular with private car owners as well as fleet managers and car rental companies. The advantages of these ‘all-rounders’ are obvious: there is no need to change tires in the spring and autumn and you keep the money you would normally spend on purchasing a second set of tires and storage costs. bag. That sounds great, especially because our tire tests in the past have shown that many all-season tires perform very well in everyday traffic. But beware, for enthusiasts of a sporty driving style, different standards apply when looking for suitable tires. With sporty cars, driving dynamics and the associated driving pleasure should always have the highest priority. This comparison shows whether this is possible with all-season tires, which have significantly higher requirements than summer and winter tires. In this test and in the PDF that you can download for free as a logged in user, you can read how our eleven candidates performed in the driving tests, under very different temperatures and weather conditions.
These all-season tires participated:
Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3
Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3
Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Falken EuroAll Season AS220 Pro
Double Coin DASP-Plus 4-Seasons
Also tested on snow
Because the four-season test must be an all-rounder, testing was also done when driving on snow. Almost all candidates completed the important traction and braking tests on snow without any problems, even the cheap Double Coin kept up with the leaders. Michelin and Kleber scored highly on the driving behavior and slalom test components with perfect balance and excellent lateral grip. The test car also drives quickly and safely on rubber from Pirelli and Goodyear. The summer tire that we also tested as a reference tire fails miserably in this area. Both a summer tire and a winter tire participated in all test sections.
Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3
After all test components, the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3 was declared winner of the AutoBild all-season tire test, spring 2024 edition. The Michelin CrossClimate 2 finished in second place, the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 is on the lowest step of the podium.
