We’re almost at the end of the year, but rumor has it that Apple is planning to release a few more Macs in 2024. Here they are!
These new Macs are coming in 2024
In addition to the iPhone 16 and various Apple Watches, Apple is rumored to be releasing a number of Macs before the end of the year. These are the new Macs that are yet to come!
1. MacBook Pro
Apple is planning to refresh the MacBook Pro (14 and 16 inches). Both new MacBooks will then receive an upgrade with the M4 chip. There will be an entry-level model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro that will get the regular M4 chip. In addition, there will also be a faster version with an M4 Pro and one with the M4 Max chip. The M4 chip is faster, more energy-efficient and has AI capabilities.
The MacBook Pro’s exterior is likely to remain the same. Apple is focusing on improvements to the internal hardware for its 2024 Macs this time around.
2. Mac mini
Unlike the MacBook Pro, Apple has a new design planned for the Mac mini. According to usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, the new Mac mini will be Apple’s smallest computer yet. The Mac mini is expected to be as big as the Apple TV, but slightly thicker than the current version.
Rumors also say that the Mac mini will get at least three USB-C ports. There will also be a connector for the HDMI cable and one for the power cable. Apple is planning to give the Mac mini an M4 or M4 Pro.
3. iMac
Rumors indicate that the iMac (24 inch) will also get an update this year. This would mean that the M3 chip will be replaced by an M4 version. There have been no rumors about the design yet, so it will probably be a 24-inch screen again with a choice of different colors.
There have been rumors of a 30-inch Mac for some time now, but that’s unlikely to be among the Macs coming in 2024. Even 2025 seems too soon.
New Macs in 2024: This is when
Apple usually releases new Macs in the fall. That is often in the months of October or November. Last year, a new MacBook Pro and iMac were introduced in October. But it does not always happen that Apple has an event with Macs around this time. So we have to wait and see when exactly the new Macs will arrive in 2024.
