The new 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a major drawback: the new 2021 model does not appear to be compatible with the old Magic Keyboard folio case of the 2018 and 2020 models.
Bad news for iPad Pro 2020 owners
Do you already have a 2018 or 2020 iPad Pro with the accompanying Magic Keyboard folio case and want to switch to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with mini LED display? Then unfortunately there is also less good news. It turns out that the ‘older’ Magic Keyboard cover is not suitable for the latest iPad.
The discovery comes from the French website iGeneration and thus means that users of the iPad Pro 2021 will also have to purchase a new cover with keyboard. The renewed iPad with mini LED screen and faster M1 processor is in fact slightly thicker than its predecessors. The iPad Pro 2021 is 0.5 millimeters thicker than the 2020 model. This increase is probably due to the more complex mini LED screen. Thanks to mini-LED, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a very high dynamic range (HDR) and the device excels at displaying contrasts.
Fortunately, there is also a ray of hope. The new 2021 Magic Keyboard cover can be used with the previous 2018 and 2020 iterations. The cover is therefore not only suitable for the latest iPad Pro.

The iPad Pro 2021 is the most powerful Apple tablet ever. The device is controlled by an M1 chip and is therefore just as fast as the iMac 2021 computer and MacBook Pro laptop.
In addition, the quality of the front camera has also increased considerably. This camera now has 12 megapixels (was 7 megapixels) and can follow you during video calling. This way you can move a little during a FaceTime call without getting out of the picture. Ideal in this day and age with many online meetings and lectures.
The iPad Pro 2021 pre-order starts on 30th of April to 2:00 pm. If you want to make the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro an equivalent laptop alternative, don’t forget to add the latest Magic Keyboard cover to the order. The iPad Pro 2021 will be in stores from mid-May.
