The app we mean is Geotrainer. It is a free app in the App Store that allows you to take various quizzes. The quizzes are about topography with topics including the capitals or the names of countries.
What makes the app so nice is the neat finish. The app looks clear with nice images. In addition, after answering a question you will see more interesting information about the subject.

In the free version of the app you get access to a limited number of quizzes. Do you like the quizzes? Then it might be smarter to take the paid version of the app.
This is possible with the supporter subscription. This annual subscription costs 9.99 euros per year, which is about 0.83 cents per month. You will then have access to even more quizzes and you support the further development of the app.
